Sustainable Fashion
3QUARTERS is one of the first sustainable fashion brands in Greece. We strive for a zero-waste, socially and environmentally sustainable fashion. What we’re essentially trying to do is Reimagine Fashion.
The fashion industry has been facing some harsh realities for a number of years now. The environmental and social impact of the modern phenomenon of “fast fashion” has been enormous and finally laid bare. Unsustainable production, consumption and waste go hand in hand with human and animal exploitation. The Sustainable Fashion Movement is flourishing and addressing these very issues but a major change is needed.
Enter the European Social Innovation Competition 2020.
Reimagining Fashion
” The European Social Innovation Competition, launched in memory of Diogo Vasconcelos, is a Competition run by the European Commission across all European countries, now in its eighth year. The 2020 Competition is titled Reimagine Fashion – Changing Behaviours for Sustainable Fashion. We are looking for ideas that seek to improve the environmental and social impact of the European fashion market through the development of new products, services and processes, and innovative business models. ”
The Big News
The big news is that John, co-founder of 3QUARTERS was invited by the European Commission to be one of the 12 judges for this year’s competition! It’s a diverse panel of university professors, consultants and successful social entrepreneurs with a wealth of experience and insights into the fashion industry.

After the launch of the Competition in February in Valencia, the judging Panel has been hard at work to process the 700+ applications. Despite the Covid-19 lock-down that did not allow meeting in Brussels, the first round of judging took place via Zoom and we have a very worthy list of 30 semi-finalists.
We are extremely proud to be selected for such a prestigious position. Sustainable Fashion is making real inroads and small brands have an important part in it. It is also a pleasure to be introduced to such a diverse array of ideas and a big responsibility to be a part of the future.
Finally, we are happy to be the first time Greece is represented in the jury of the European Social Innovation Competition.
Good luck to all the semi-finalists!
